Live fearless.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.” {Psalm 56:3-4}

Following God is rarely a planned out journey. Following Him and being faithful is not always easy. God asks us to give Him our full devotion without getting a full explanation to everything that we face. Being fearless is having the will to follow Him and trust God even when we don’t have all the answers. What are you fearful of? When we feel fear in any aspect of our life we need to take it to God in prayer and ask Him to give us hope and faith. God doesn’t always give us all the answers, and this can sometimes leave us with questions, or leave us feeling lost.. But in reality, He knows exactly what His plan is and where He is guiding you. Where in your life do you need to give over to God and trust Him?

Sometimes we feel like it’s easier to trust Him when our lives are going well. But when He puts us through a tough situation our responses aren’t always the same. It can be hard to believe what God says when what we go through doesn’t meet His promises, but God desires for us to trust in him fully. This requires us to obey, even when it seems tough. It’s our responsibility to trust Him and take that first step of obedience. Isaiah 41:10 says “Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.” When you go through situations do you ever feel like it’s sometimes hard to trust the plan God has for your life? I have, it is completely normal. When we want to be fearless, we have to allow God to work through our lives. Being fearless starts with having faith in Jesus, even when we can’t see His promises.

To follow God and start living fearless we have to take a step and go all-in and follow God through every situation. Fear can be so crippling and steal our joy but only if we let it. God sees our fears and shows us reasons to not follow our fears. When we feel our world is falling apart, we need to remain calm and let God guide us in the right way. We are living in a broken-dangerous world where fear is everywhere. Fear isn’t always bad, and in reality God gave us fear for a survival tool. God never intended for us to live in fear though. Psalm 46:1-2 says “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” This verse reminds us that God is always there even through our troubles. He is our strength and our Father. Some fear is good, but living in fear is bad.

Psalm 23 starts by reminding us of how great our God really is. Psalms 23:3-4 says “He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. He is our father, our provider, our strength. He is truly so good, and wants the best for you. Our God is faithful and He is here to guide is along to the right path of our lives. Walking with God doesn’t guarantee us a direct line to Heaven with no pain or fear on the way, but when we go through tough situations it is on Gods watch and He is faithful. God uses the hard struggles in our life to make us stronger and to better grow in our relationship with Him. When we meet fear along the way, move along and trust God through it. If we do that fear will lose its power over us. Facing our fear can be a gateway to freedom.

The countless trials, temptations, struggles we go through can sometimes allow fear to creep in. However, if we are confident that no matter what we go through our Lord’s promises will never fail it will leave you feeling changed. We can live fearlessly in life and be confident in the one who created us. Ask yourself: What are your biggest fears and how is God working to show His promises in my life?

You may not be exactly where you’d hoped right now in your life, or you might be right where you want to be, but God has a way of blessing those willing to go wherever He goes and leads you. We will never be left alone. God is there every step of the way. All you have to do is turn in His direction and follow Him. With this being said; living in fear can be so harmful and crippling. It can steal our joy. Know that God has you, and He always has a plan for you. Live fearless!!

Lots of love, Carsyn!
