It’s that time of year, the most wonderful time of the year! CHRISTMAS! One thing we can count on, in addition to well needed family time and good laughs and happiness, is Mariah Carey coming in to curate the perfect tone of Holiday Cheer. Well renowned as the “Queen of Christmas,” Mariah is back this year in a collaboration with Apple TV to do a Christmas special for in-home screens across the world. Titled Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, the musical event is set to breathe festive spirits into each and every family’s living room. The affair is completely star-studded with, with special performances from Mariah Carey herself, Jennifer Hudson (where she and Carey will perform their new song “Oh Santa!”, and Ariana Grande. The event will also detail celeb appearances from Misty Copeland, Jermaine Dupri, Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, her adorable nine-year-old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, and many more.
What truly steal the scenes are the decadent custom-made threads Mariah wore on the cinematic stages of each performance. Known as a true Diva, MiMi is the glamorous butterfly that we all look to when we want a glimpse of what a diamond crown looks like. The wardrobe layout was complete with sparkles, the Christmas combo colors of red and green, lace, and sculpting corsets. Each piece was imagined by Carey herself and produced by esteemed Costume Designer Daniela Gschwendtner along with Apple’s production team. One of the pieces that truly makes you say ‘WOW’ is the snow white fairy god-mother like ball-gown that features an off-the-shoulder low neck line and fully covered in sequin goodness. Keeping the glamorous aesthetic pleasing, she continued with a Nutcracker-inspired mini dress made of plush red velvet, a cinched waist, and gold trimming to compliment the throughout crystals all over the dress. Throughout the entire process, Mariah was extremely hands on as she leads the way and sets the tones for the Christmas Holidays.
