Types of jeans and how to style them
It’s not the first time I’m saying this: I love jeans, I can live in jeans so probably the first thing I put my hands on every morning when I dress up is a pair of jeans.
I prefer skinny jeans because they are very comfortable and easy to style. For more interesting looks I go for flared jeans with high heels or platforms so they would make me look much taller.
Sometimes I love to style boyfriend jeans with boots or stilettos for an urban, effortless vibe.
You should try to see which style would flatter your figure more and how you could mix your favorite items in a comfortable and chic look.
To help you out a bit, here are some ideas on how to style jeans:
Boyfriend jeans:
I like them a lot, but they don’t flatter my figure that much. So when I do wear them I go for two different ideas. Styling them with combat boots for a tough look is one of them. A loose top in summer or a pullover for a cold winter day would do the trick. For a more edgy variation I would wear an open back top with chain details and burgundy stiletto heels.
Skinny jeans:
They look great with strappy sandals and of course, comfortable sneakers. From all the brands I tried, my favorite are TOPSHOP Leigh. They have a high waist and really great texture. From sporty chic to elegant, you can never go wrong with this jeans cut.
Leather look jeans:
My second favorite type of jeans because they have that edgy-rock’n’roll vibe. I have a pair in black and one in burgundy. Metallic high heels like these Jimmy Choo’s are the best match. A fitted top or some ruffles will complete the look.
Ripped jeans:
Distressed jeans will not go out of style completely, they will just change a bit from season to season. I like these black ripped jeans with chain details that I altered a while ago. I just sew some beaded chain where I cut them. Another pair that I love very much is this one from H&M which I dyed in two tones. In my opinion, ripped jeans are great as a contrast with elegant tops or shirts.
Flared jeans:
They are fantastic because if you pick the right shoes they can make your legs look longer. Try a lace top or a shirt for a classy mix. If you are thin, you can even dare to go for a crop top and a fringed vest for an awesome festival outfit. Don’t forget about the round sunglasses.
There are so many posibilities when wearing jeans, but the thing you have to keep in mind is that you need to find the right cut and style that will make you feel and look great at the same time.
Never wear something that feel uncomfortable just because it’s in style. It looks fake and that ruins everything.
so much inspiration in one post love it!
