Socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu, has celebrated her son who recently graduated from a British university.

She took to her Twitter page to share the news, expressing how excited she feels now that he is putting a smile on her face.

Yesufu explained that though she was told that her son will be unable to attend the university, he was taken to England at the age of 14 and became a graduate at 22.

The activist wrote, “When you were told your son will not be able to go to university. When you had prepared your mind to him not being a graduate and God proves you wrong!

“At 14 we took him to a school in England, today at 22 he is a graduate.”

Campaigner and activist, Yesufu has been at the forefront of many struggles, especially the campaign for the release of over 200 girls abducted from a secondary school in Chibok, Borno State in 2014, and recently the EndSARS protest against police brutality in October 2020.

She was seen as one of the faces of the EndSARS protest and her picture became the icon of the struggle. Recently, a UNIBEN undergraduate made a sculpture of her viral picture which was captured during the protest.
