Dear Comrade,

Recent news reports suggest that there could well be some gangsters in your government. If this is indeed so, you must get rid of them now. The stories are deeply disturbing so you need to act now!

Comrade, the country is facing some crises the likes of which we have never witnessed in our lifetime. There is the COVID-19 pandemic, the eruption of La Soufriere and the crippling social and economic fallout therefrom. As you offer sterling leadership in these times, it appears as if some around you are hell bent on metaphorically beating you in the knees. They could only wish to see your political demise.

By now, you know that I write of the incident in which Deputy Speaker of the House, Senator Ashelle Morgan and Assistant Director of Public Prosecution, Karim Nelson are allegedly involved. One is accused of physically assaulting Cornelius John and shooting him in the foot. The other is accused of threatening Mr. John with a gun to his head.

Comrade, these allegations are as serious as they could get. I am sure that the particulars have been reported to you. So, I do not have to bore you with the details as reported in the media. I simply urge you to do the right thing.

Contrary to what you have publicly suggested, the alleged conduct of Senator Morgan and Assistant DPP Nelson is not a matter of partisan politics. Right thinking people see it for what it is. It is an alleged criminal act allegedly perpetrated by two people who should know better. Try as you may to invoke party politics, you will not succeed.

Further, stop the interference and let justice take its course as swiftly and as fairly as possible. To be sure, your public comments to date have done nothing to help the situation. Do the right thing. Advise Senator Morgan and Mr. Nelson to step aside as you demand a thorough investigation. In the meantime, Comrade, keep your mouth shut and let justice prevail.

Sincerely,

Junia Myers

  1. This thing about “Dignified silence” can’t work here. Just do the right thing. This is bad for you and country.

  2. The man at the top is the only mouthpiece we are hearing regarding this criminal activity.A criminal protect a criminal and that is what it looks like. You are not fit to be a leader. In your speech I heard you mention that women are being abused, this comes from the top .

  3. Ben Exeter was arrested for carrying a licensed concealed firearm, teacher Bibby was arrested by the goon squad for [allegedly] mouthing off the self proclaimed world (b ass) the heavily armed goon squad went to lava man’s home to arrest him for climbing a mountain now 2 government bandits went to a man house [allegedly] assaulted and crippled him with a gun shot, they are still walking free.Don’t blame (Colin) […]. SVG secured a temporary seat in the UN if you think they are not watching think again and as for the self proclaimed world B ass you will come down sooner than later, you are not a mountain nor and island this is a blatant disregard of Mr. John’s rights. London Bridge is falling down. Amen

  4. Strange, how we call people who have been accused of rape and affronts to the constitution, honorable. Yet we pride ourselves on having a society built on the rule of law, On paper that is, but it seems that some people are above the law. If a politician breaks the law he/she must resign. But it looks like people don’t know their rights, like the right to hold elected office or Government officials accountable, the basic human rights guaranteed or all without regards to political affiliation. Do you think the ULP can do that?

  5. I can only comment on what I know for sure. I am glad that the big gangster has been gone from Customs for some years now. Many know who I am talking about. At least now Customs goes by rules, (although the duties are WAY TOO HIGH, ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS KEEPING US FROM DEVELOPING) (AND THE MASSIVE AMOUNT OF PAPERWORK AND TIME NEEDED TO CLEAR SOMETHING IS ALSO VERY SAD!!)

  6. R , I do agree with you about calling people who has been accused of rape honourable., I always speak about this issue especially when they are in Parliament, It hurts me that much. the opposition should do better,. in developed countries that man and his son would have to resign. Something is seriously wrong with us as a people.

  7. This one stink a road people leave a [possible] crime scene and called the PM and the next thing you know he’s making threats about defamation and warning people to keep their mouth shut

  8. Percival Thomas says:

If you have poor leadership at the top, as well bad examples set, these will translater lower down the party and government. And even the country. SVG is crying out for a leader with high standards.

  9. Kingsley Simmons says:

It is difficult to understand how senior members of any government who are “of interest” in the shooting of an individual can continue in their job without it affecting their performance. Of course, in a democratic society, you are innocent until proven guilty but given their positions, the honourable thing is for them be relieved of their post, voluntarily or otherwise, until they have been proven innocent.

  10. gilbertsnuts says:

Many Vincentians sold their souls to him for a bag of cement and a sheet of tin. The wrath that caused has brought black sigatoka, loss of bananas, Lion fish destroying our fishing grounds by eating fish eggs. Zika, Dengue Fever, Chikungunya, COVID 19, a raging volcano. That is the payback for those sins by multiple core rotten Vincentians. Then the Christian Council support a man that declared if he works Obeah he works Obeah for the Lord. Members of the Council get tax free imports, no taxes all sorts of goodies to not strike out against obvious government induced sin. Now when things get worse and top lawyers go out and shoot a man in the leg, not a word of condemnation from the legal profession via the Bar, no screaming out loud from the Christian Council, no condemnation from any member of the dynasty, not even a word of condemnation of the three bandits by the prime minister.

  11. Myers eh? Sure look like a family member. I didn’t hear anything from the leader of the opposition, so you are correct when you disagree with Ralph political comments. It is political for him because these people are form his goon party. Will justice be served? I don’t think so because Ralph!

  12. Nathan 'Jolly' Green says:

When you have a leader with low morral values, you cannot expect the people to have higher standards than their leader, rubbish leadership, rubbish followers.

  13. Do we ever need a leader with high morals. St. Vincent is suffering because of the terrible corruption in the land.

  14. There is an old adage which says that the fish begins to rot from the head. This is moreso in our society. The leadership is more cunning than most vincentians. There is bound to be 6, 7 and 8 in a row if this trend holds.

  15. Nathan 'Jolly' Green says:

Writer when you say dear I am sure you cannot be using it as a word of endearment to the prickless porcupine. Dear is generally a polite but impersonal standard greeting. Dear can sometimes mean expensive, as in “The cost of food is so dear these days.” Yes I suppose in that case you can call him dear, remember he was the only man in the Caribbean to approve VAT on salt, perhaps the only man in the world to do that. But now he was renamed and reframed himself as World Boss, he can continue stuffing the Vincentians in any way they will accept, and that is a lot. The whole Caribbean and Americas are laughing at the Vincentia people for allowing what is going on to continue.

  16. This is sound advice. For the life of me I can’t understand why the prime minister has not asked the individuals to step aside while the investigation is ongoing. Not a very good example while we are seeking to encourage our young ones to be law abiding. What hypocrisy. Mr Gonsalves I am afraid this may affect your ability to lead SVG henceforth.

  17. Garifuna Mingo says:

The Ulp has improvished Vincentians so they have to run to the world boss for special favours. In return they mortgage their freedom in return for loyality to Massa. We are still living in Massa land. What happen tp Yuggie is the kind of treatment massa doled out to Africans. Vincentian need to find true liberation and throw of the yoke of being a house slave. Some of the house slaves in goverment even adopt the lingo of the decendant of massa. What a shame and a disgrace.

  18. Nathan 'Jolly' Green says:

Remember Greg when he has in the past been accused, even charged with sexual charges, when asked to step aside until the matter was resolved, he refused.

Remember this is the master of the political two-step dance, one of this centuries greatest actors, all of life is a scene from ‘the life of the dynasty.’

It is fortunate that there are people writing the truth of history, which will be published after his death. The future Vincentians will be able to read the truth about everything.

Remember also this is the self claimed blackest prime minister in the Caribbean and now self elected to the position of World boss. He once told Vincentians being black is not a colour, it is an attitude. Now if that is not racist, what is. Can a black person be come white if they change their attitude? What kind of attitude makes you black?

If it was not so serious it would be a laugh out loud scene from a situation comedy.

The Vincentian people would have dumped this man a long time ago if it was not for the sack of cement and sheet of tin, the curse that has brought pestilence and fire into the midst of Saint Vincent.

  19. Dr Ralph Gonsalves is giving the impression that he is single handedly running SVG, he’s doing every interview, he has the final say in everything. Why don’t he allow the respective agencies to do their job. It is obvious that his desperate attempt to stay in power is actually getting him out much faster……..it’s over…
