The Lord’s Saving Grace: Our Ways Are Not His Ways

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. – Isaiah 55:8-9

Taking the road to the narrow gate of heaven is not easy.  We must walk this road alone, no one can do this for us.

We are naked and afraid, not knowing exactly how to find heaven nor what to say or do in forgiveness of our sins; knowing that Christ somehow is involved.

I did not know how to get to heaven in my early years; I was a product of a lost home, a wayward house of unbelieving sinful lusts of the desires of flesh; my father was an alcoholic, my mother gave up her Christ of her childhood to find the life of Satan, who raised her young children in such a household.

No wonder I did not believe.  I did not have the words of Christ to sear into my brain, nor did I have a proclaiming person in my family who spoke the words of Jesus nor explain the gospel of Jesus Christ.  This lead to a life of destruction, and despair.

John MacArthur spoke on the way to the narrow gate leading to heaven, abiding by the Lord Jesus Christ, abiding by His Word.

MacArthur said that every man presses into it, the life of Christ, abiding by His Words as written in the bible in order to know Christ, and to find the narrow gate that leads to Him.

That was a profoundly sobering message last week, one I would have given anything to know at a younger age.  I was not given a chance, it was by Jesus’ kindness, love and mercy that He gave me sound doctrine and knowing the way to Christ Jesus.

For He saved me, it was by no works of my own.  And in an atheist family I’m surprised I am a believer today – it was Christ only who was able to save me.  He reached out to my heart and gave me my belief today.

I have a relationship with Jesus Christ that is loving and kind, all knowing and saving me from the devastation of my earthly thoughts.  I do not know how to save myself nor do I have the power.

I can only thank him today for saving me.  I wonder how many of you really have a saving relationship with the only Lord and Savior there is, Jesus Christ?
