Forest City Velodrome – We Need Your Help Campaign

release by the Forest City Velodrome

The Forest City Velodrome is a not for profit organization who’s mandate is to foster track cycling in the Southern Ontario region. We are completely run by volunteers and all funds from memberships, race nights, cycling kit sales, coffee sales, etc. all go to keep the track open.

We have a long history in the cycling community dating back to April 2005 when the FCV first opened. The Kallisto-FCV youth team calls us home. With our help and that our our many volunteers, several youth track stars have got their start at the FCV and have competed in many high level (national, international) competitions. We have a philosophy of making track cycling available to all.

While memberships and fundraising are up this year compared to the last two years, we still are struggling to make ends meet. Recently, the PA system stopped working requiring over $1500 in parts to replace…money we didn’t have. We continue to pay rent and utilities, but the future is uncertain.

We need your help to generate a one time cash reserve to help offset our costs. We are asking the cycling community from Ontario, from Canada and from all parts of the world to help us. We are offering T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, and other incentives to those donating.

The fundraising compaign will end March 1 or when we reach out goal. T-Shirt, Sweatshirt, etc. orders will be processed then.

All funds will go to help support the FCV and ensure our continued operation. Will you consider helping?

(T-Shirt and Sweatshirt orders a closed – however, donations are still accepted)

DONATE here.
