Colorado Springs police arrest 19-year-old in connection with the shooting death of two people

The two were found dead in a car on Saturday

Colorado Springs police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with the shooting of a man and a woman who were found dead in a car Saturday night.

Police arrested Nashid Rayon Rivers on first-degree murder charges on Sunday. Authorities didn’t release his name until Tuesday.

On Saturday, police were tipped off about a possible double shooting on the west side of the Springs. That night at about 9:20 p.m., someone reported a suspicious vehicle near Bergamo Way and Gold Camp Road. Officers discovered a man and woman with apparent gunshot wounds.

The two were pronounced dead on scene.
