A 23-year-old man Tuesday afternoon was convicted of impersonating a police officer last year while attempting to pull over a woman in Aurora, prosecutors say.

Antonio Marcus Arbogast was found guilty of the Class 6 felony charge, as well as harassment, a misdemeanor. Adams County prosecutors say a jury, after a two-day trial, returned their verdict in 40 minutes.

Police say Arbogast was caught by police in a Subaru outfitted with flashing emergency lights as he apparently tried to pull a woman over in May 2015 in the area of East Montview Boulevard and Dallas Street.

Authorities say the woman called 911 and stayed on the phone with a dispatcher for several minutes while Arbogast continued to follow her until nearby officers arrived and pulled over both her and Arbogast.

“(Arbogast) was armed and was wearing a gray security uniform with no identifiable police badges or insignia,” police said in a news release after the incident.

Arbogast is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 26.
