Couple hospitalized after stabbed by bandits

A man and his wife are hospitalized after they were stabbed by armed bandits at their Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara home on Thursday evening.

Reports are that at about 19:45h, 49-year-old Keith Williams got up to open a door to let his cat in. It was then that he was confronted by two men, who were masked and armed with knives.

The men proceeded to demand cash and valuables, while holding Williams and his wife Allison at knifepoint.

When they told the bandits they didn’t have, the men stabbed the victims and subsequently fled with one gold wedding ring, one watch and a wallet.

Williams was stabbed to the region of his left side chest while his wife was stabbed to her left side abdomen.

The injured couple were taken to the Mahaicony Hospital by a friend and they were later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. Their condition is listed as serious.

Police investigations are ongoing.
