…As FG Asks Importers to Relocate to other Nigerian Ports

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]low pace of Lagos Apapa-Wharf Road reconstruction has been attributed to underground gas pipelines and lack of funding.

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman disclosed this to newsmen during an inspection tour of the road on Tuesday.

Usman, who expressed disappointment at the rate of reconstruction currently going on the road, gave an assurance that the government is doing everything possible to make available whatever is needed to increase the pace of work on the road.

Meanwhile the nation’s Federal Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola has advised importers to start using alternative ports within the country so as to reduce the gridlock being experienced on the road as a result of the ongoing rehabilitation.
