Major crackdown on private buses plying without tax; 15 buses impounded

The Punjab Transport Department today impounded 15 buses of private companies plying without tax in the state.

Disclosing this here, Transport Minister Mr. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said that complaints of private buses operating without tax were continuously pouring in, hence the special investigation teams of the department were constituted. He said that during raids in four districts of the state Faridkot, Bathinda, Amritsar and Ludhiana, a total 15 buses were impounded.

In Faridkot, two buses each of Jujhar bus service and New Deep have been impounded. Similarly, 2 buses of New Deep, 1 bus of Orbit Aviation and 1 bus of Rajdhani Bus Service in district Bathinda, 2 buses of Baba Budha Transport Service in district Amritsar and 1 bus of Orbit Aviation, 2 buses of Jujhar Bus Service and One bus of Libra Bus Service and one bus of Nagpal Bus Service have been impounded in district Ludhiana.

The Transport Minister affirmed that any person violating the rules of the department would not be spared at any cost.
