A Rochester clothing design studio called Peppermint* is setting up a “pop-up shop” at Ashker’s Juice Bar, Bistro and Gallery this weekend. Designer and retailer Tanvi Asher will be on-hand showing off her latest lines. These types of shopping experiences give Buffalo shoppers a chance to check out what neighboring cities are up to, while it gives out-of-town designers the ability to gauge the demand for products without actually opening a brick and mortar. Who knows, if sales go well, Buffalo will be on this designer’s radar for bigger and better things.
“We are so excited to be a part of Elmwood Avenue and think that we can provide a unique shopping experience. We’re hopeful that the Buffalo community will appreciate the fact that I’m a woman owned business that supports local designers and carries lines that are made in the U.S.” says Asher. “If the pop up shop is successful, it could eventually become long-term.”
*Peppermint operates a store on Park Ave in Rochester, New York, selling retro inspired young contemporary women’s clothing, jewelry, shoes and gifts.
