2016 John Lewis advert features a cover of Randy Crawford’s ‘One day I’ll fly away’

A dog on a trampoline and a rendition of Randy Crawford’s iconic ‘One day I’ll fly away’. What more could you want from life?

It’s official, the annual release of John Lewis’ christmas advert is now more hotly anticipated than christmas itself.

The rapidly emerging Vaults covers the Randy Crawford classic following in the footsteps of Gabrielle Aplin, Tom Odell and Lily Allen who have all covered classics in pervious years.

Craig Inglis, Customer Director at John Lewis, said: “2016 has certainly been quite a year, so we hope our advert will make people smile. It really embraces a sense of fun and magic, reminding everyone what it feels to give the perfect gift at Christmas.” In a year full of despairing depression we couldn’t agree more. A John Lewis advert is ultimately the only thing that can keep us on the planet long-enough to enjoy christmas.

“Each year we work with a charity which fits our ad, and we hope this year’s campaign will encourage more children to discover a love of British wildlife and encourage support of The Wildlife Trusts” added Inglis.

The advert features a boxer dog named Buster who dreams of life bouncing on a trampoline. When Christmas day rolls around, Buster seizes his dream and sends a message out to all of us to never give up.

Below is the original ‘One day I’ll fly away’ which will now inevitably fly up the charts.
