Sky: Milan interested in Chelsea defender on one condition as Lampard green lights exit

By Oliver Fisher -

Confirmations have arrived from England that AC Milan are chasing Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori after the news broke last night.

It’s no secret that the Rossoneri are looking for a centre-back on the market, in advanced negotiations with Strasbourg over Mohamed Simakan. As was confirmed to us, the Frenchman isn’t injured and wants to leave the club this month.

According to Sky Sports in the UK, Milan have added Fikayo Tomori to their list of alternative centre-back targets. They add that he decided against moving on loan to Everton and West Ham in the summer and that both Leeds and Newcastle have been linked this month already.

Frank Lampard has seemingly confirmed that he will be allowed to leave in the current window as he has made just four appearances all season.

“The situation with Fikayo (Tomori) is kind of open at the moment. There’s a possibility he could be going on loan to get games somewhere else. That would have to be the right solution for him and the club,” the Chelsea boss said.

However, the report goes on to add that Simakan is indeed Milan’s priority target and while they are the only club so far to have made an official offer, the latest bid is some way short of what Strasbourg want.

Sky add that at least four unnamed Premier League clubs are considering a bid for Simakan, who has played 18 Ligue 1 games for Strasbourg already this season.
