Curtis’ Day
Once Curtis got to work he did a bit of admin and then did something he had booked in.
After that, Curtis cleared up around his desk and in the server room with his colleague. This was to give Curtis more room to work and put things he needs!
Curtis helped someone who had multiple questions and once he did that it was almost lunch time. After Curtis discussed some things with his colleague, they decided, along with another couple of people, to go for lunch to say a farewell to his colleague who will be going back to the Winnipeg office.
Curtis did bring salad with him, but he was enticed to go out for food.
They all walked down to Gastown where there is a very hip taco bar called Tacofino.
This place was very busy and everyone lined up.
Curtis ordered and got his food but everyone else decided they would grab a table, so they all sat down and Curtis followed.
Curtis was informed that he couldn’t eat it in there as it was their restaurant version which had different food, weirdly!
Everyone left the seating area and queued up and got take out. Curtis got a steak barbacoa burrito bowl.
They walked back to the office and sat together and ate lunch. Curtis’ food was really good! It came with what seemed to be a spicy slaw, with jalapeno.
In the afternoon, Curtis had a productive meeting and got some stuff sorted via that meeting.
After the meeting, Curtis completed a few hardware related requests and then headed home with Kim.
Kim’s Day
After this Kim then did a some admin before a handover meeting for a project she will be taking over from a colleague who is leaving on Friday. It was great to get the time to understand the system and plan.
Kim then helped set up the tacos for lunch. Once this was done. She got a little more admin done then grabbed a plate of tacos for herself!
Kim then had another meeting, but with more people, in regards to the project. It ironed out some of the details and they all sat down and created a rough timeline and plan of action.
Kim then spent a while catching up on emails and other day to day tasks.
Kim then went out with a colleague to send some post. Then when they got back they started the clear down from lunch. The girls then remembered that they had brought ice creams for the Hackathon so they set up the trolley and Kim rolled around handing out free ice creams. If that’s not a way to get liked in a new job, then what is! She then headed out to meet Curtis and walk home.
Humidifier
We ordered a humidifier for our room, so when we got home we sorted that out and made sure it works.
We spent a few hours just doing nothing…
Toast!
Kim went for a quick swim and then we had some toast for dinner whilst watching some TV as we weren’t too hungry.
We slept at a good time as we both need to be in early tomorrow.
