The U.S. Book Show — an online conference that will present keynote speakers; editor and author panels; and library, bookselling, and industry programming — is set to take place next week. Today, Publishers Weekly announced that Oscar Isaac will be attending as a keynote speaker to discuss his new supernatural noir graphic novel from Legendary Comics, Head Wounds: Sparrow.

While Isaac is most recently known for his leading role in Marvel Studios’ latest television series Moon Knight, he can also be seen in a variety of titles including the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Dune, and HBO’s Scenes from a Marriage. Head Wounds: Sparrow comes from creator Robert Johnson with a story by John Alvey, and it’s written by Brian Buccellato with art by Eisner winner Christian Ward. Isaac developed the project alongside Jason Spire.

The synopsis for the story is as follows:

“Tangled up in the battle between Good and Evil, a crooked Louisiana detective with a higher purpose must psychically suffer the wounds of those he’s sworn to protect until he brings their assailants to justice. No one would call Leo a good person — much less a good cop. But when his best friend is shot in front of him, he wakes up with a hole in his own head that only he can see, and a host of mysterious strangers calling on him for action. Most people go about their daily lives ignoring or unable to see the divine battle for Good and Evil raging around them, but it has just become very real for Leo. As angels and demons vie for the fate of humanity, he must choose a side or risk seeing everyone and everything he has ever known destroyed as the stakes get higher and higher. As Leo sees the true faces of the people around him he must decide — will he do what’s best for him alone, or follow a higher purpose?”

Isaac’s panel at the U.S. Book Show will take place on Tuesday, May 24 from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. ET, and he’ll be interviewed by Heidi MacDonald, Editor-in-Chief of Comicsbeat.com and co-host of PW’s More to Come podcast. Go here for the full schedule.

Tickets for the conference can still be purchased, but sales will close this Saturday. For more information on the U.S. Book Show, go here.
