Addressing a public gathering after inaugurating a government treasury at Nagam in district Budgam, Rather said the government is exploring all the possible opportunities to create jobs in public sector but it is was not possible to provide government jobs to everyone as the number of educated unemployed youth in the state has touched to 7 lakh. He said the government is keen to make the future of youth bright, for which Sher-i-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY), first of its kind in the country, has been launched which has been appreciated even by the Planning Commission of India. He asked the youth to avail benefits of this novel employment policy to secure dignified job, not only for themselves but for others too.

Reiterating his mission to serve the people as per their urges and aspiration for their trust and faith reposed on him, Rather said “I endeavour for equitable justice and uniform development of all the areas”. He also announced Chadoora would be given the status of sub-district. He enumerated various under construction Road and Bridge projects in Chrar-i-Sharief constituency adding that Nagam-Lolipora-Gaggi Patheri road is being widened and macadamized at a cost of Rs. 16 crore.
