INEC declares Okorocha winner of Imo West Senatorial zone
The outgoing governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha of APC has been declared winner of the Imo West Senatorial zone after polling a total number of 97,762 votes at the concluded election.
Okorocha was in a close race with his strongest rival, Jones Onyereri of PDP who secured 63,117 votes in the zone.
The Collation Officer of the district, Professor Ibeawuchi Francis announced the result where Okorocha was returned as the Senator-elect of Imo West Senatorial District.
He will assume his seat as a lawmaker at the National Assembly in Abuja by May after his tenure as the governor of Imo state is completed.
