This is neat
Convert your PMAGS to hold 9mm:
It’s neat in that it eliminates the need for a magazine block for your 9mm AR. But I don’t know that the price per magazine makes them worth it. Still, pretty cool.

A decent mag block typically runs $100 or more. And metalform colt mags can cost $30 each although as is much cheaper. So using pmags at $10 and the kits wouldn’t hurt that much.

Or, ya know, Magpul could quit the damn sunglasses etc. and focus on mags purpose-built for this, not to mention mags for 10/22 etc etc etc. They have the entire market in the palm of their hands, they just gotta grab it.

At ~$25 per adapter, that means that these run ~$35 once you’ve added the requisite P-Mag.
From there, if you figure on ten mags, you’re looking at ~$350.
That’s not that bad when you figure that a lot of the popular magwell blocks are ~$200, and Colt SMG mags are frequently $30+ each (often much more if you want a pony stamp on the basepad).
The real question is how they compare to drop-in magwells when it comes to reliability: My own experience there has been quite spotty — Stoppages and magazine retention issues have been a real PITA. This should solve the latter, and will hopefully make things consistent enough that I can more easily iron out the former.
If these work, they’ll also make it a LOT easier to swap between 9mm and 5.56, which will be especially useful for those of us with transferables.
