Alitalia’s aircraft take-off record in December saw 86.5 per cent of its flights depart on time.
This figure is particularly positive given the heavy traffic related to Christmas and year-end holidays.
Since the reopening of Rome Fiumicino Airport’s third runway, which was closed from June to October due to maintenance work, Alitalia’s on time performance ranking has improved markedly.
Alitalia is committed to improve the travel experience for its customers through other initiatives, especially from its hub base at Rome Fiumicino where it has introduced new shuttle buses, new baggage belts and two sets of stairs to quicken the disembarkation from the aircraft and reach the terminal faster.
More ground staff have also been deployed at departure gates to accelerate the passenger boarding process and a new “Transit Team” which features a new uniform with distinctive grey jackets has been launched to help air travellers switch efficiently from one aircraft to another.
