Edward Thomas Bautsch known by his family and friends as Tom Bautsch, 84 of Galena, IL passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at Waverly Place, Stockton, IL. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Galena where military honors will be accorded by Galena VFW Post #2665 and American Legion Post #193. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel. He was born March 16, 1932 in Galena the son of Edward and Adele (Connor) Bautsch. Tom served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to his wife of 42 years Joyce Dittmar on April 27, 1968 in Galena and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2010. Tom worked in construction, farmed and drilled wells until his retirement. He held public office as Rice township road commissioner and assessor. He is survived by two sons, Steven and Keven, two grandchildren, Ethan and Joseph, three sisters, Joan McGrane, Mary Bautsch and Polly Baranowski, one brother, Daniel (Judy) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a niece, Katie Lyons and a nephew, Chad Bautsch.
