Derek Carr has yet to be traded even though he’s visited with the New Orleans Saints twice already.
Since then, it sounds like another team in the NFC South is keeping a close eye on the veteran quarterback.
According to Joseph Person, the Carolina Panthers are monitoring Derek Carr as a potential option.

From the sounds of it, Carolina is just doing due diligence and keeping their options open. Considering they have a top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Panthers want to make sure they make the right decision to improve the roster.
Regardless, it’s interesting that two teams from the NFC South are showing interest in Derek Carr. All four teams in that division could use an upgrade at quarterback and Carr fits the bill.
Even so, the Panthers have a top pick in the draft and it might make more sense for them to select a rookie to build around.
Meanwhile, the Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers make sense as potential suitors for Derek Carr. Maybe the Bucs will enter the chat in the coming days.
Additionally, February 15 is an important date to pay attention to for the Las Vegas Raiders. If Derek Carr is still on the roster by then, the franchise will owe him $40.4 million of guaranteed money.
The trade interest in Carr has been slow, but it sounds like teams are waiting to see how the Raiders handle it.
