Local independent runners shine at Northeast XC invitational

BRONX, Ny – A group of talented independent cross country runners competed Saturday at the Eastbay Northeast Cross Country Championships.

Leading the way was Kylee Cubbison’s first place finish in the Junior/senior girls 5k with a time of 19:40.6. Justice Sheaffer had a strong showing as well finishing with a time of 24:20.0 good for 61st.

In the Freshman/Sophomore girls 5k,

Addie Parson finished 37th with a time of 21:44.3 while Ava Wagner finished 97th with a mark of 30:11.9.

Rounding out the girls’ runners in the 13-14 year-old girls 5k was Coffey’s Amilia 30th place finish with a time of 23:50.9.

On the boys side, in the Junior/senior boys 5k division, Chris Royer finished 21st with a time of 17:58.4.

In the Freshman /Sophomore division

5k, Caden Bell finished 49th with a finishing time of 19:09.3.

In the 11-12-year old boys 3k

Cam Treaster finished 42nd with a 13:02.8 l.

Cubbison finished as 1st Team All Northeast while Amelia Coffey finished as 3rd team all northeast. Chris Royer finished as a 2nd team All- Northeast, Conrad Coffey was 3rd team All-Northeast. Rounding out the local winners was Addie Parson with a 3rd team All-Northeast nod.

All the kids ran unattached and were coached by Ron Sprecher.
