Bellefonte tops Bearcats

BELLEFONTE – The Bellefonte girls opened its 2018 season in grand fashion in their home opener against Mountain League foe, Huntingdon, 7-2.
The Red Raiders opened the game quickly scoring four runs in the first two innings while it kept the Bearcats off the Ballard until the third.
Rianna Trexler went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead her team to the victory.
Lissi Przybys also finished with a 2-for-4 evening, giving her team some power from the bottom of the order. She also scored twice in the 5-run victory.
Lexi Rogers led the way on the mound for Bellefonte going the distance facing 23 while allowing two runs off of five his and striking out 14. She only walked four and had just one hit batter.
Her defense was just as strong and refused to allow any errors in the contest.
Huntingdon did not have any multiple hitters in the contest as Rogers scattered the hits throughout the line up.
