Paperbacks for reading. Hardbacks for keeping (I feel like they’ll last longer even though I take very good care of my books, whether they’re hardback or paperback)
I read mostly on my Kindle, sometiemes I do like to read a hardback or paper. However, if I’m reading paperback, it has to be a trade paperback. Most other paperbacks have writing that is too small? .
I used to work at Barnes and Noble – and we were able to check out any new book to read. One of my fellow booksellers taught me a trick – when possible – read large print editions if available. Same feeling of holding a book in your hands, but so much easier on the eyes!
I love a hardcover; especially in the fall and winter. Being in Minnesota – there is nothing cozier than a cold day, cup of coffee, a comfy chair, a sweatshirt and a hard cover book. To me, a hardcover is a luxury. I ALWAYS have a trade paperback in my purse or tote – just in case I get stuck waiting somewhere. Especially a doctor’s office. I won’t read their magazines – people in doctors’ offices are sick – I’d rather hold my own book.
the big paperbacks…. i alway mix up if they are called trade paperback… is that correct? getting old enough to appreciate the largerer format … still i read them all… and when a book wins me over … very easy!,,, i go hardback very quickly.
*Whispers* “ebook” I am SO hard on my books. Bent or fraying covers. Coffee spills….powdered foundation….on accident, one and of course, never on purpose but it never fails. So kindle is my choice.
Whatever is cheaper (usually, whatever I find at thrift stores) or whatever the library has. But I keep leaning more and more on ebooks. They all read the same to me.
Hardbacks when it comes to art books and the likes… Paperbacks when I have to carry them around (plus it’s getting a little bit harder to hold as I grow old…)
Hardcover, it’s unfair to your face? but I still prefer hardcover. It is just so cool- it’s stays presentable longer, my fingers makes that drumming noise, the illustrations effect sometimes different etc.
I don’t really mind when it comes to fiction, there isn’t usually much difference. NOn fiction I tend to prefer hardbacks as the illustrations are often better, sometimes a book that was i

Trade paperbacks. Large like hardcover books but not as heavy (or expensive)!
Paperback. And I still only have physical copies of my faves. Otherwise it’s all digital, because books are heavy!
Trade paperbacks. Lighter to tote around, usually fit in my purse or pack.
As a collector, I prefer hardback editions. As a reader, I prefer paperbacks. I usually have both for most books that I love.
Both

KINDLE
Either one is fine with me. It really depends on cost and availability. I buy a lot of Kindle books because I don’t get out of the house a lot.
Audible, paperback, hardcover, then kindle. Nothing’s easy.
Kindle, hardback and then paperback but font matters most for comfort
Hardbacks
Yes. My wrist prefers paperback while my eyes prefer hardback

Large format paperbacks
Whatever is cheaper (usually, whatever I find at thrift stores) or whatever the library has. But I keep leaning more and more on ebooks. They all read the same to me.
Hard or soft cover, it’s all good to me as long as it’s not an ebook
Big floppy paperbacks are the bees knees.
Paperbacks. They don’t hurt as much when they fall on my face while reading in bed.
Hard
Hardbacks when it comes to art books and the likes… Paperbacks when I have to carry them around (plus it’s getting a little bit harder to hold as I grow old…)
Paperback. I can’t be as rough with a hardcover
Hard back. Paperbacks sometimes are too difficult to keep open.
