Rules Change Quickly

Kristen Seer: “Never in my life have I seen rules change so quickly. Take reusable grocery bags vs. plastic bags as an example. Reusable bags are recognized as the preferred environmental choice and many cities were on the verge of banning plastic bags. With the pandemic hit, the first rule was that you could bring your reusable bag but you had to pack it yourself. Then that was modified so that you couldn’t place your bag on the counter; you had to hold it while you packed it or place it on the floor (neither a sanitary option nor good for those of us with bad backs!). Now reusable bags are no longer allowed at all, so plastic bags are proliferating and their environmental impact has taken a back seat.” Link
