Kicking Horse, BC is about to get dumped on. The forecast is calling for 23″ (59cm) of snow at mid-mountain in the next 7 days. The resort is home to the only Freeride World Tour stop in North America this season, so this forecast is really getting us STOKED! The resort is scheduled to open on Friday, December 8th, 2017, but keep your eyes peeled for an earlier bonus week if conditions allow.

Snow levels are expected to vary between 2200m and 850m throughout the duration of this storm. Kicking Horse’s bottom lift is located at 1000m, so the resort is expected to see snow below the base.

Heavy rain (total 44.0mm) on Wed night. Becoming colder with heavy fall of snow, heaviest during Thu night. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 4°C on Tue morning, min -6°C on Tue night). Winds decreasing (fresh winds from the SW on Tue afternoon, calm by Thu night),” stated Snow-Forecast about the storm.

Day 4-6 Weather Summary:

A heavy fall of snow, heaviest during Sat night. Temperatures will be below freezing (max -1°C on Fri afternoon, min -6°C on Sat morning). Wind will be generally light,” stated Snow-Forecast about the storm.
