Vancouver Easter Activities

On the Easter weekend there are usually egg hunts, Easter Brunches and other spring-themed holiday activities in Vancouver.

In 2024 Easter Sunday was on March 31st. The Easter long weekend, meanwhile, ran from March 29th to April 1st (which meant Easter Monday this year was also on April Fools Day)! There were special events throughout the long weekend. Easter Sunday in 2025 is on April 20th.

Most Easter-themed events and activities finish on Easter Sunday. Events that continue on the holiday Monday in 2024 included Easter at Britannia Mine and Hoppy Heights at Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Easter Long Weekend in the Lower Mainland

In 2024 Good Friday was on March 29th and Easter Monday was on April 1st. In 2025 Good Friday is on April 18th and Easter Monday falls on April 20th.

During the Easter long weekend there are a number of family-friendly events including Easterfest at Taves Farm, Baby Easter Animals at Maan Farms, Peteys Easter Eggstravaganza at Fantasy Farms, and an Easter Egg Hunt at Greendale Acres in Chilliwack. Britannia Mine also has special Easter-themed activities, as does Capilano Suspension Bridge.

In 2024 Fantasy Farms hosted an Easter event for adults on three Saturday nights in March. On the weekend before Easter there was also a Bunnies & Booze event for adults at Maan Farms in Abbotsford.

For people of all ages, on the holiday weekend, there is also the Big Easter Run. In 2024 that event happened on Saturday, March 30th, at Jericho Beach. The run happens again in 2025 on Saturday, April 19th.

Vancouver Easter Activities

The following events happen within the City of Vancouver:

Big Easter Run – this popular running race took place at Jericho Beach on Saturday, March 30th in 2024. It’s a fun run, so suitable for people of all ages and abilities! Lots of runners wear costumes, so it’s fun to both watch and participate in. (TIP: To save 10% on the cost of registration for the run in 2025 use the promo code VBP10.)
Easter Vintage Car Rally – a gathering of dozens of vintage cars at Trev Deeley Motorcycles in Vancouver takes place on Easter Sunday (which in 2024 was March 31st). The event is open to the public and admission is free.
Easter Bash at Broadway Church – the church at 2700 East Broadway had a free event on Saturday, March 30th in 2024. It featured children-friendly activities including an Easter egg hunt and games.
Pacific Arts Market Events – the art gift store and gallery on West Broadway had a Hello Spring Art Fair & Egg Hunt in the afternoon of March 30th in 2024. On the same day in the evening there was a Family-Friendly Neon Painting Party.
Stanley Park Easter Train – an Easter-themed miniature train ride at Stanley Park. Kids can also meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy other activities. In 2024 the train ran from March 29th until April 1st and cost $9 per person over the age of 2.

Other Vancouver Events

The Easter Bunny often drops by for a visit at FlyOver Canada at Canada Place, and 2024 was no exception. The attraction hosted an Easter celebration on the mornings of March 29th to April 1st. Guests could enjoy breakfast with the Easter Bunny followed by the film Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies.

There is also sometimes an Easter event at VanDusen Garden, although not in the past couple of years. Hopefully the Easter egg hunt and other activities can happen at VanDusen Garden again in the future.

In addition to the above, on March 24th, 2024, there was an Early Music Vancouver concert at the Chan Centre of Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia. March 24th was Palm Sunday and the concert was Handel: Hallelujah & Trumpets.

Fraser Valley Easter Activities

The following Easter activities happen in the Fraser Valley region:

Easter at Taves Family Farms – the Abbotsford Farm celebrated Easter with family-friendly activities on the weekend of March 29th to 31st in 2024.
Easter at Maan Farms – this farm hosted three different kinds of Easter-themed events in 2024. There was Bunnies & Booze for adults ages 19+ on March 30th. For children and their families, there was Baby Animal Easter Days on March 29th, 30th and 31st. This second event included kid-friendly activities, farm animals and more. On the same three days as Baby Animal Easter Days, there was also Breakfast with the Easter Bunny.
Easter at Fantasy Farms – the farm in Chilliwack hosts the following three events:
- Peteys Easter Eggstravaganza – child-friendly activities happened on Tuesdays to Sundays from March 16th until the Easter long weekend in 2024. There was a miniature train, egg hunt, pony rides and more.
- A Night of Illumination – a new event that featured an Easter egg hunt, light displays, food and drinks for folks ages 19 and above on March 16th, 23rd and 30th.
- Family Night Train Rides & Egg Hunts – UV light decorations, a train ride, Easter egg hunt, bouncy castles, and other fun activities on five evenings between March 17th and 31st.
Easter Egg Hunt at Greendale Acres – the popular farm and attraction hosts an annual egg hunt with extra activities. In 2024 they happened from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (At the same farm, later in April, there is also the Chilliwack Plowing Match and Sweet Spring Flower Festival.)

North Shore Easter Activities

Events listed below take place on the North Shore in celebration of Easter.

Hoppy Heights – an Easter-themed event at Capilano Suspension Bridge featuring special decorations and activities for children. In 2024 the event ran from March 16th until April 1st.
Easter Brunch Buffet – a special brunch event at the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier. It took place in the venue’s ballroom on Sunday, March 31st in 2024. Seatings were at 11:00 am, 11:30 am, noon and 12:30 pm.

New Westminster Easter Activities

The following events usually take place on and just before the Easter weekend in New Westminster.

Spring Discovery Days – the Fraser River Discovery Centre celebrates the spring season with salmon-themed activities and family-friendly things to see and do. This event ran from March 16th to April 1st in 2024.
New West Farmers Market – the market took place on Thursday, March 28th (so not actually on the holiday weekend). There were egg hunts, crafts, live music and other activities between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Tsawwassen and Ladner Easter Activities

Easter events take place in both South Delta and North Delta. In the former, in Tsawwassen, there is the Rotary Club’s annual Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt. It took place in 2024 on Saturday, March 30th, between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at Diefenbaker Park. To learn more about this family-friendly event see the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen‘s Facebook page.

On the following day, in North Delta, there’s another event for kids and their families. This one took place on Sunday, March 31st, in Ladner. It involves both a small Easter parade and an egg hunt.

The parade in Ladner begins at 1:00 pm at the corner of Delta Street and Bridge Street. It proceeds from there down Delta Street to Memorial Park where the Easter egg hunt takes place. It’s a small parade/procession, but fun for kids.

Sea to Sky Easter Activities

Below is information about an attraction with special Easter-themed activities in the Sea- to-Sky region.

Easter at Britannia Mine – the museum up the Sea-to-Sky Highway had a scavenger hunt with mineral clues on the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Easter long weekend in 2024. The event was included with general admission to the mining museum. Children who completed the scavenger hunt and found all the clues won a geological prize. There was also a special underground tour to enjoy, as well as “Colours of Copper” demonstrations at the museum’s Terra Lab.

Easter Activities for Adults with or without Children

Whether you’re young or older, the following are other activities that everyone can enjoy this time of year.

Cherry blossom viewing – the blossoms are finally out and there’s a lot to admire over the Easter weekend. Check out the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival for information on cherry blossom-related events and a map of where to find the best blossoms.
Enjoy the outdoors – if the weather is good, go for a stroll or cycle along one of Vancouver’s best places to walk, jog or cycle. Or go exploring at one of Vancouver’s best places in parks and nature. Take a picnic, enjoy the blossoms and admire the spring flowers.

Easter Brunches

Lots of Easter brunches happen on Easter Sunday each year. To learn about them, see our article about Easter Brunches in Vancouver. Popular places to check out usually include the H2 Kitchen at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in Coal Harbour, P2B Bistro at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel near the Vancouver Convention Centre, and at the Pinnacle at the Pier Hotel on the North Shore. Lots of other hotel restaurants put on fancy brunches too.
