India to host Miss World pageant 2024

India will be hosting the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant after a long gap of 28 years. This was announced by Julia Morley, Chairman of Miss World on X. This event will be televised and streamed worldwide.


The pageant was formerly held in India in 1996 in Bengaluru.
The first Indian woman to win the Miss World crown was Reita Faria in 1966. Later on in 1994, Aishwarya Rai won the crown. Diana Hayden earned the title in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999, Priyanka Chopra in 2000 and finally Manushi Chillar was crowned Miss World in 2017.
Karolina Bielawska of Poland won the crown in 2023 and she will crown the winner of the Miss World 2024 at the end of the event.
The month-long festival will be hosted by the India Tourism Development Corporation at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi in February and the grand finale is scheduled to be held on March 9th at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
