2014 WoW Christmas Ornament Swap: Set No 11 of 16

One of my swappers signed up for multiple swaps, and today I’m sharing the first of her sets. This set was made by Iris in New York State, USA for Dianne in Minnesota, USA:

Dianne sent me these pictures of the ornaments, with the following comments

I have received today 3 very sweet ornaments from my swap buddy Iris. As you can see they are detailed, lovely and romantic!

I cannot help but mention the back of Iris’s ornaments. How did she achieve her vintage effect, and how did she do JOY? I am crazy about both!

The diamond one has a very unique construction, as the image is “floating” in the tin, having been glued to the ribbon which also serves at the hanger! All three tins appear to have been lined with fine christmas paper, possible printed tissue paper, which gives them a delicate look. I love it!

And finally Dianne sent me this picture of her table top tree, decorated with all the ornaments this swap produced:
Wings of Whimsy: Christmas Ornament Swap 2014That’s 3 ornaments made by Dianne herself, 4 by me and 4 by Iris (we each threw in a bonus ornament, for private reasons…lol)

Iris has been ill these last few weeks, and unable to write me much about the ornaments. She said one very important thing:

Each one of the ornaments was made from my love.

Iris: when you read this and feel better, both Dianne and I would love to hear how you achieved the vintage effect on the back of your ornaments?

Did you miss out on the planning of this swap? This is what my swappers signed up for back in September:

  • Each swap is for a set of 3 ornaments. Either 1 tart tin swap or 1 cookie cutter swap, swapped with one swap buddy
  • Deadline November 15th to craft your ornaments, take pictures and get the packages ready
  • Send pictures to me of the finished ornaments
  • Alert me when the swapped ornaments arrive at their new home

  1. Iris’s ornaments have a lovely fairytale quality about them which I love and I must say, doesn’t the collection of ornaments on the tree look amazing! Every one of them a beautiful keepsake. Margie x

    1. I agree, lovely fairytale, very romantic, and so, so beautiful! I am also totally in awe of all the talent and creativity that has been revealed with this swap! Such a limited starting point (vintage tart tins and cookie cutter ornaments), and yet the results are so diverse! I love it!!! xoxoxo

  2. I can only agree to everything MArgie has already said, they´re all sooo sooo beautiful and versatile. It´s truly amazing how different everyone has been creating them and aproached this task. It´s really an amazing view to look at this tree here with all these beauties in al their glory. Absolut stunning. I really love these here too.
