After over 30 years of performing together, DJ Spinderella has announced that she has departed the legendary group, Salt-N-Pepa after she says the ladies officially terminated her months ago.

Spin, who has been the duo’s official DJ and unofficial third member since their early days, took to Instagram on Thursday night (May 2) to reveal the shocking news to fans. According to Spin, she received an official “termination” email in January of this year that informed her she would no longer be performing with the ladies going forward.

Spin says that she expected the group to release an official statement confirming her departure, but alas nothing has been issued from the group. Get into her statement below.

“I’m deeply saddened to share with all the #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella fans that I will not be performing on the #NKOTB Mixtape Tour. Despite my participation in promoting the tour and being highly publicized as one of the acts, in January 2019 I received a ‘termination’ email from #SaltnPepa excluding me from performances with the group. It was my expectation, after making that decision, that they would also take responsibility for sharing the news with the public and other affected parties. It has been months now with no mention. Out of love for my fans and a commitment to upholding a standard of professionalism, I’ve taken it upon myself to let everyone know. I refuse to participate in misleading fans, ticketholders, and others who — based on all the advertising — were anticipating seeing the iconic #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella trio. So, I’m making it clear now. Please know you will have the opportunity to see me this summer in many other projects and activities I’ll be participating in and I look forward to seeing you all then.” Thank you, Spinderella ?

The group has not officially commented on Spin’s statement or status with the group as of yet. However, on Thursday–they did post an updated flyer for the upcoming ‘The Mixtape Tour’ which now only shows Salt-N-Pepa with no image of Spin as there was in previous images of the flyer.

Just this week, BET premiered their new reality series ‘Ladies Night’ that features the group as well as R&B group, SWV. Spinderella has been included in all the promos for the show leading up to the premiere and also was in the first episode that aired on Tuesday.
