According to Fox News, “Thanksgiving travel can add 130-259% increase in airline volume!”

Well, it’s finally here, the dreaded Wednesday before Thanksgiving travel day! It’s one of the most hectic travel days of the year! Are you already on the road? Perhaps you are lucky and got a few extra days off work and have already arrived at your destination? With all the issues that can come up on a normal travel day, here are a few things that can help keep you sane if you are traveling today (along with everyone else!)

  • Charge all your electronics – there is nothing worse than a dead phone, iPad or laptop when you need it!
  • Arrive early at the airport!
  • Bring your noise-cancelling headphones. It really does help you relax on a flight!
  • Pack snacks.
  • Prepare for a wait! Use your TSA Pre-Check if you have it.

And remember to stay calm! Because it’s one of the busiest travel days of the year, you should be prepared for long waits and travelers of all kinds (both experienced and novice.)

Last night we flew into the world’s busiest airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson and it definitely lived up to it’s reputation! I’ve never seen so many wheelchairs lined up to pick up people off one flight…there must have been 15-20 and they just kept coming!
