After Bournemouth’s exit from the playoffs on Saturday afternoon, there’s a growing belief among the Celtic supporters that things are about to kick into high gear.

The theory over. the past few weeks is Eddie Howe’s contract with the English club is stopping the deal from going through, along with Howe’s wish to get his men in place for the start of pre-season.

Now Bournemouth’s season is over, the coaching staff Eddie wants who are currently at the club should have more room to manoeuvre, there should now be very little standing in the way of a Celtic appointment.

Alan Nixon, a journalist who has been very close to the story throughout has now claimed there no more excuses for Celtic to hold up the announcement.

We started Sunday morning by updating you on what Duncan Castles has claimed about a potential deal. The journalist seems to think we’re being led down the garden path.

That’s not our information, nor is anybody in the Scottish media claiming anything other than they expect Eddie to be the next Celtic boss.

People keep saying it, but it surely has to be close.
