BRENDAN RODGERS sat in the Ibrox press room today and conceded his side were second best throughout the game.

There was no excuses, no trying to hide and no sour grapes from a man who saw his team lose 1-0 when it could have been heavier on another day.

Rodgers took the high road and knew there are always going to be bumps in the road along the way.

The Celtic manager now looks hungry to get down to the business of recruiting in January and signed off his congratulations to the home side with an ominous warning; we’ll be back, and we’ll be better!

“I’ve sat here having won and having played well, but I sit here today having lost. Today hurts, it always does, and some of our players haven’t experienced that.

“Now we can go away, recover, press the reset button, work hard and come back better.”

Celtic will head to Dubai in the new year to regroup and get back to basics with some new faces.

Timothy Weah is set to come in to ease the burden from Odsonne Edouard; a young American right back is also set to join in Manny Perez. There are more targets Celtic are actively chasing in the coming weeks which will galvanise the side.

  1. Celtic couldn’t step up the performance today, at any point after losing the goal. Sevco were better than usual (Better than headless chickens) Can’t blame anyone in particular. Bad day at the office. Still full of xmas pudding and lackluster. Time to move on ‘No excuses’.

  2. This level of performance is the norm from this bunch of cowards. Can’t say I’m surprised we lost, especially with the ludicrous line up.
Lustig has been done for over a year. Ntcham is hopeless. Brown looks finished as well.
Sinclair went back to his invisible best.
Johnston ahead of edouard was madness, and the sort of decision that will cost us the league, and Brendan his job.
Lustig and ntcham need to go in January. We need to seasoned goalscorers, not another kid from PSG. We desperately need a right back. We need two centre halves, because boyata (who was terribele on the ball again today) and benkovic won’t be here next season.
If Tierney was fit to be on the bench, why wasn’t he fit to start?
Why can’t he leave a winning side alone? Why did ntchambles have to come back in? Why didn’t hayes playbat left back and keep a strong midfield, instead of the shameful powederpuff embarrassment?

    • Agree, Brown looks finished if he stays then just back up we looked like we did not know what the player wanted,we win better without brown playing, and if we can not go there and win or get a draw then what is the point of playing top teams,we need seasoned pros that can do the job better than what we seen today….

  3. We need a few fresh signings. We cant really complain.Out of 13 we lost 1.The league is still Ours.Only one team can stop us getting Ten in a Row,Celtic..HH Happy New Year to the Celtic Family.
