Almost new: ’88 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 62
The Jeep-like FJ40 Land Cruiser is one of the most collectible and capable classic 4-wheel drives but there is another Land Cruiser lurking. As we have said before, it is the favorite 4X4 of the Taliban, all sorts of terrorists and the UN – the Toyota FJ62 Land Cruiser. Okay, so maybe they prefer the less flashy white and not today’s metallic beige, but you have to admit seeing news footage of screaming terrorists waving rifles out of the windows of these Cruisers.
Today’s find is the last in the series and it sports an automatic transmission. The FJ62s are all automatics. If you want a stick, go back to ’87 when they were all manual transmissions. Today’s FJ is virtually new with just 9,000 miles. Unheard of and it looks like it could be accurate. That’s pretty amazing. This one will be expensive but less than fixing up a rat to this level. It had a recent Toyota service too. If all the seals haven’t dried out for lack of use than this one is pretty compelling. Click here for the listing.
