Gramps: ’66 Datsun 1600
These early Datsun Roadsters are finally getting the love they deserve. The really early cars like today’s find is prized because, among other things, the interior has a more period look to it. It has toggle switches and a beautiful dash with round gauges. These pre-68 cars are known as low-screen cars because their windshields are lower. They are prized by Datsun aficionados. Today’s 1600 was owned by the seller’s Grandfather. It has had little use since his passing and the Grandson wants to find it a new home. It was restored to a very nice condition and the seller thinks the drivetrain has about 12,300 miles on it since the work was complete. There are records indicating almost $14,000 of work. An impressive amount. The car looks pretty decent from the photos. A few small areas of rust or other imperfections are featured so you know what you are going to get. It comes with a hard top and soft top plus a tonneau. The seller is asking $9500 and that represents a nice alternative to a traditional British sports car of the same period.
