Golden State Warriors win NBA title

Golden State Warriors defeated Cleveland Cavaliers 105-97 at Quicken Loans Arena , Cleveland, in Game 6 of the best of 7 finals and took an unassailable 4-2 series lead to win the 2015 NBA crown. . The Warriors won their fourth NBA title with their Game 6 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, their first since the 1974-75 season. They are the fifth team in NBA history with at least four titles, joining the Celtics, Lakers, Bulls and Spurs.

Andre Iguodala, who hadn’t started a game in the playoffs until the Finals, won series MVP after averaging 16.3 points and playing stellar defence on LeBron James.

Stephen Curry finished with 25 points, becoming just the sixth player in NBA history to win his first MVP and his first title in the same season. The last player to do so was Shaquille O’Neal in 1999-2000.

Warriors had a terrific season with 83-20 record, third-best mark behind the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls (84-17) and the 1996-97 Bulls (87-13).
