Our client, Africa’s leading independent oil and gas Exploration and Production Company with a diverse portfolio of assets across Africa as well as interests in Europe, South Asia and South America is seeking to fill it’s Well Geologist (Rotational) position with a competent Ghanaian.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Geologist, the jobholder will support the extended duration for the Ghana development drilling campaign and take part in the Greater Jubilee Full Field Development drilling and further development drilling of TEN
• Responsible for gas analysis, formation top picking, lithology preparation, use of GEO and/or Gravitas, picking casing points
• Assist in geotechnical assessments
• Responsible for showing nationals and/or the regulator around the rig site in a professional manner
• Responsible for monitoring and interfacing with mud logging, wireline logging, sampling and logistics contractors
• Prepare daily geological reports and concise communication-updates
• Ensure operational delivery is consistent with government regulations and partner expectations
• Liaise with Operations Geologists and drilling team for morning, afternoon and ad hoc updates
• Coordinate the activities of the mud logging crew-team
• Assist with coordinating the wireline logging where required
• Coordinate contract wash-up meetings on wireline logging, LWD logging and mud logging
• Ensuring G&G operational requirements are met at Wellsite
Requirements
• Must have Petroleum Engineering Degree, or equivalent
• Strong technical skills in operations and development geology
• Must have between 15 to 30 years Wellsite Geology and Mud Logging experience
• Deep-water offshore & Onshore well experience required & preferred respectively
• Relevant pore pressure experience required
• Experience in Africa is preferred
• Tullow working experience/ understanding of its practices is preferred
• Able to interface with government at technical, operational and business levels
• Able to grow his/her talents within new and expanding organisation
