OnBeat solar headphone

While a huge percentage of people across the globe use a cellphone for listening to music, how often does it happen that you are unplugged due to a exhausted battery? As a solution to this issue, Andrew Anderson has created a headphone set that uses solar energy to charge any smartphone or tablet.

OnBeat is a high quality, eco friendly headphone set which has integrated flexible solar cell that covers the full headband which capture solar energy whilst out and about. The solar cell has a surface area of 55cm3 with a charge capacity of approximately 0.55W. The energy is stored in two light-weight Lithium Ion batteries held within the two ear cups for a balanced weight and fit on the head. During the cloudy or rainy days, the headphones can be charged through a USB directly from the computer.

“We have worked incredibly hard for the last year to develop different models and prototypes of these headphones. Rechargeable batteries and a full solar panel mean that users can keep their devices running all day long. Now, after creating the final prototype, our Kickstarter page has launched, inviting people to pledge money and support for our idea in order to put this great new product into production.” –  says Andrew Anderson, OnBeat.
