The Ekiti State Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Mr. Niyi Ogundipe, has been suspended.
In the suspension letter dated September 15, 2014 and signed by OPC National Coordinator, Otunba Gani Adams, the erstwhile State Coordinator was accused of anti-congress activities.
The letter reads in part, ‘It has come to the notice of the organization that you have consistently involved yourself in activities deemed as anti-congress.
“Despite several warnings and attempts by the elders of the congress to ensure that you toe the line of responsibility as a state coordinator, you have continued to behave in a manner that is capable of dragging the name of the congress in the mud.
“It is also noted that you have consistently absented yourself from all activities of the congress, including absenting yourself from the meeting of National Coordinating Council (NCC), which is the highest decision-making arm of the congress.
“Therefore, after a meeting of the NCC, during which your matter came up for discussion, it was unanimously agreed that you should embark on an immediate suspension from all activities of the congress.
“By this decision, you henceforth seize to be the state coordinator of the OPC in Ekiti State. You are expected to handover all the properties of the congress in your possession to the state secretary pending the final determination of your case.
“Thank you for your compliance”.
