The Federal Government has directed that civil servants to close from work by 1pm to ensure maximum for the Super Eagles of Nigeria against their Black Stars counterparts from Ghana in Abuja on Tuesday.
This was contained in a circular by the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, Dr. Ngozi Onwudiwe, on Monday.
Onwudiwe, who signed for the Head of Service of the Civil Service, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, said: “As you aware the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be meeting the Black Stars of Ghana in continuation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier, playoff.
“There is need to mobilize support for the Nigerian side. Consequently, I am directed to inform you that all offices be closed 1:00pm on Tuesday, 29th March 2022.
“Permanent Secretaries are requested to give this circular wide publicity to achieve desired result.”
The Nigerian side requires an outright win over Ghana to book her place in Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup later this year.
First leg of the playoff ended scoreless in Kumasi on Friday.
