Red Sonja fans can now grab the classic Dynamite Comics series Queen Sonja this fall. The publisher is set to release two omnibus volumes featuring reprints of three fan-favorite story arcs. Queen Sonja Omnibus Volume 1 reprints the first 15 issues in a 396-page paperback edition and is slated to hit stores in October.
In this volume, writers Joshua Ortega (Gears of War), Arvid Nelson (Rex Mundi, Warlord of Mars), and Birth of the She-Devil scribe Luke Lieberman offer arcs depicting the unique challenges that face Sonja at this stage in her life. Artists include Mel Rubi and Jackson Herbert, and fans can also enjoy a cover gallery, including a dozen paintings from Lucio Parrillo.
Followers of Red Sonja’s mythology have had a great year, with Birth of the She-Devil exploring the warrior’s past and an exciting new ongoing series by writer Mark Russell. She is also pairing up with Vampirella in a new ongoing title as well as an unlikely crossover with the girls of Riverdale, Betty and Veronica.
Queen Sonja Omnibus Volume 1 will be ready for preorders in August, and fans are encouraged to head to their local comic shop to secure their copy. The paperback will be released in October and will also be available on various digital platforms such as Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, and ComicsPlus.
