3 Homecoming Looks to Make a Statement

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: homecoming.

Ladies, we all know how stressful the process can be to get ready for the big day, so this is a short inspiration guide to help you look fabulous.

With October around the corner, chit-chat about dates and dinner fill the hallways during passing period. In the cafeteria, students gossip over who will be hosting the after party, and boys are creating game plans for creative ways to ask someone to the dance. But most importantly, girls are scavenging for dresses online rather than studying for tests.

This look fits the newly-single girl who’s ready to show up at the dance with a group of girlfriends, making a statement. A look, I would call, “bold.”  To achieve this look, try for a dress that is some combination

I would pair it with some shiny but simple bling, as not to take away from the dress’ pure ‘wow ’ factor. For hair, a middle-parted, slightly messy, low ponytail would compliment the look nicely, pulling the hair away from the face and dress. This hairstyle also pulls the hair up from the back, exposing the backless feature of the dress. Lastly, to complete the look, kill it with a smokey eye, and if you’re really feelin’ yourself, a dark red lip color

Classy

This, ladies is a 147458look for the more modest girls out there. If you’re more shy or conservative or, if the #struggle of finding a dress has you stressed out, or frankly, you just don’t care that much, a black dress that you love w ill work for anybody. This one is just $46 at Lulu’s. This look is a hit because it’s so versatile. It can be worn with crazy shoes and chunky jewelry, or simple Kendra Scott earrings and nude Steve Madden heels. The dress really allows you to draw attention to whatever accessories you want. Complete the look with full-out glam makeup and soft waves for hair, or a more natural look paired with a fancy updo, and you’re sure to rock the ‘Little Black Dress.’

Glamorous

Now, if you want to make heads turn when you walk in, this is the look. “Glamorous” would be the o39956628_001_gnly way I’d describe this. Find an elegant, yet sexy dress – lace usually does the trick – and rock it. This dress is from Urban Outfitters and is a little more high-end at $129. However, it’s stunning and will make for beautiful pictures on your special night out. Aim for all black jewelry, paired with red or nude heels, to complement the lace and keep the look from getting too hectic. For makeup, work a smoky eye or neutrals, and for hair, a high ponytail with a few strands pulled out towards the front. You’re sure to look like you just stepped off the red carpet for your movie debut.
