Polls are open throughout the area

Voters cast their ballots at the Waterford Town Hall during the April 2021 election. Results of Tuesday’s election will be available after polls close at 8 p.m.

Polling places throughout the area are open and will remain so until 8 p.m. for voters to decide races for local municipal and school boards.

Topping the ballot in Burlington is the Board of Education race in the Burlington Area School District where incumbents Kevin Bird and Barry Schmaling are challenged by Aaron Melby and Ryan Mueller (see in-depth story inside).

Some Burlington area voters will also decide who will succeed longtime Racine County Board Supervisor Mike Dawson. The 21st District race pits Judi Adams against Taylor Wishau. The district encompasses the southern half of the city and town of Burlington.

In the Waterford High School District voters will decide the fate of $19.75 million referendum intended to complete upgrades and maintenance to the district’s buildings.

Also on the ballot in Waterford are races for the High School Board, Graded School District Board, Village Board and Town Board.

In the Union Grove area voters will cast ballots for a seat on the Village Board and two seats on the Elementary School Board.

The only other contested race on the ballot is for District 2 Court of Appeals judge. That race features incumbent Lori Kornblum and Maria Lazar.
