I’m reading a book titled Successful Church Publicity by Carl F.H. Henry. The book was written in 1943,which is interesting that no mention of the war is included in the book. World War I is referenced, but not the then current war of 1943. In this book, Dr. Henry lays out his ideas for effective church publicity through religious journalism.
Henry’s book speaks of the imperative that Christians, more specifically Christian Pastors, use the most modern means available to tell the story of the gospel. He says:
“Religious journalism has come of age in an hour of immense world need: may it rise by modern methods and with the help of all saints everywhere to its great task.”
These modern methods are now the computer, the television, and multi-media outlets. I believe that the same principles apply. These methods may change, but the message does not.
This is why I have begun this web page. When chaplainandrews.com was first designed, it was a static page that I updated only when I was moving from one location to another or one unit to another. I have changed recently to a more fluid design so that I may share the gospel with the world and to tell of the marvelous greatness of God in my life. My desire is to bring messages of instruction, devotion, and example through this page to provide further communication between my self and others.
This page does not contain operational secrets or violate OPSEC. It doesn’t have to. The story and the messages could be written in the context of Iraq, Germany, or on the lake in South Carolina.
Thank you for reading, I hope that you will visit often.
