2013 Project 365

Project 365/280 – A Fall Harvest

The morning was wrapped in fog on the countryside. A short stop at the Utica Mills Covered Bridge for another perspective before heading over to Cunningham Falls State Park.

Cunningham falls were full from all of the rain this week. Autumn colors beginning to show in the cool Catoctin Mountains.

On the way home a stop at Larriland Pick Your Own Farm to enjoy the beautiful variety of the fall squash harvest. Oh the squash, the wonderfully colorful and unique squash. Imagine, all of these are edible.

And nothing embodies the fall weather than Rainbow Indian Corn hanging high in a barn’s eaves.

A truly picture perfect early autumn day. Driving with the top down with the sun shining and the wind blowing through my hair. Life doesn’t get any better than this.

Keep close to Nature’s heart… and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.

  1. Love the bridge in the fog!

Thanks for reminding me to visit the farm market down the street to stock up on a few squash, apple butter, and a few other things before they close for the season.

I hope that you did take full advantage of the weather, as it’s changing drastically here, and it’s only a matter of time before you’ll be getting the cold rain.

  2. Yummy squash!
I’ll miss the top down on my car in about a month! I’m still a trooper. Tops down until about 40 F.
