Operation: Prove It!

I’m participating in a Christian singing competition with a format similar to American Idol.

The first week’s assignment is to:

So, before picking a song, I was looking to scripture and commentaries on this subject, and found a great article here: https://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/don_stewart/don_stewart_377.cfmhttps://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/don_stewart/don_stewart_377.cfm

And another good article here: https://www.reformedworship.org/article/june-2010/all-nature-singshttps://www.reformedworship.org/article/june-2010/all-nature-sings

And these portions of scripture are what I wanted to keep in mind while considering possible songs:

What may be known of God is manifest in them for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:19,20).
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them (Psalm 8:3,4).
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat. (Psalm 19:1-6)
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of humanity who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that humans are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened (Romans 1:18-21).

So I’m considering a few songs and researching to choose, but this one jumped out at me immediately because I’ve been singing it recently:

“So Will I (100 billion x)” – Hillsong United

Also this song:

“Multiplied” – Need to Breath

Also this song:

“God of Wonders” – Chris Tomlin

Another:

“How Great Thou Art” – Carrie Underwood & Vince Gill

However, after thinking it through, since our intended audience is supposed to be non- believers, deceived, and hostile to the truth, I decided against picking either a traditional hymn or a contemporary praise song — and decided instead to go with a country song by George Strait.
