A central Iowa town has picked a low-tech way to choose one of its leaders. Van Meter has an open city council seat after last week’s election ended in a tie between incumbent Sandra Von Ruden and challenger Bob Lacy. The winner will be decided tomorrow morning as both finalists’ names will be put in a hat and the winning name will be drawn out.
