The national recognition keeps rolling in for a former Iowa State athlete. Former Iowa State wrestler Cael Sanderson was named the nation’s best male college athlete at last night’s “Espy” awards on E-S-P-N, the cable t-v network. Sanderson stood on the Hollywood stage with Marshall Faulk and other top athletes. Sanderson was also nominated for “best male athlete” along with Shaq, Lance Armstrong and Barry Bonds, but Tiger Woods won that category. Sanderson was a four-time national champion and compiled an undefeated 159-and-zero record in his college career.
